Recycling of Clothes and Textiles
Communal Stairways
Please do not leave any pushchairs / bikes or other belongings in the stairwells. This is a fire and trip hazard and breaks the terms of our insurance cover.
Bulk Rubbish
Large items (such as mattresses) must not be left anywhere on site. It is the residents’ responsibility to ensure that these items are disposed of properly by arranging collection through the Council, (Tel: 020 8554 5000). They can then be placed in the bin shed no more than 24 hours before the date of collection (usually a Wednesday). Alternatively, take your items to the Chigwell Road Reuse and Recycling Centre which is very nearby (off Chigwell Road before you reach Broadmead Road, and is free with proof of residence). Full details are available on the London Borough of Redbridge website.
British Heart Foundation - Free Furniture Collection
The British Heart Foundation shop on Cranbrook Road, Ilford offers a free collection service for furniture and electrical items. You can book a collection through the British Heart Foundation website
Recycling Area/Bin Sheds
Please sort the waste from your flat and use the recycling bins by the pedestrian gate to do your bit for the environment! Cardboard, plastic bottles etc should be compressed as much as possible before putting in the bins and the area kept tidy. The bin sheds should also be kept tidy and rubbish, especially kitchen waste and nappies, bagged up before being disposed of.
Cigarette Ends
We ask that everyone keeps the grounds tidy so that they can be enjoyed by all. It has been noticed that some residents are throwing cigarette ends out of their windows. This antisocial behaviour is very unpleasant for your neighbours and causes extra work for our handyman (Jon). If you are a landlord, please encourage your tenants to take pride in where they live and respect the property.
Intercom
If you have problems with your intercom, please get in touch and we will arrange for the engineer.
CCTV
A new CCTV system operates within Highland Court to ensure the safety of all occupants. Should it become necessary, the CCTV footage will be used to prosecute any person who damages the property, or any possessions stored therein. If you are aware of any criminal or anti-social activity at Highland Court, please inform the Directors immediately so that the CCTV can be checked.
Security Gates
The security gates should be closed at all times. Should we experience an electrical failure, systems are in place to allow the vehicle gate to open.
Please also ensure that the entrance doors to the individual blocks close securely behind you on entry and exit.
